Ward End
Gardeners Association
Ward End Gardeners entered this years show with no great expectations but as things turned out we had a great weekend with success both as a society and for individual members.
But putting that to one side the show organisation was another shambles the lack of information & the last minute arrival of show schedules a week before they had to be returned, then no acknowledgement of the entries so you were expected to turn up not knowing if the entries had been accepted. The show was only salvaged by the efforts of a few committee members there seemed to be provision for lots of things to go on outside the show marquee but nothing happened. for example the area for children to pot up seeds and take them home had no staff or seeds. This does the reputation and public image of the organisation supposedly representing us on good at all and the responsibility for this has to be with the B.D.A.C. executive.
